This years Christmas Tree

Saturday, David and I braved the snow and went out to get our Christmas tree. We pretty much just grabbed the first one we saw since most of the trees were covered in snow and we were shivering. Usually we take a lot more time picking out a tree than that. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised when Sunday after the tree had dried out and we put it up, we realized it was quite petite -not too much taller than David! But the tree is still looking good, despite being shorter than usual and so far it has survived the attempts by my 3 kitties to take it down, ornament by ornament.

Here are a few bits and pieces of our Christmas tree so far. I may be back with more...

This is what the cats like to do with our tree:

And when the ornaments are on the floor, all cats plead innocence:

You tree is so beautiful! You have so many pretty ornaments. And your cats - ha! I think our pets plus Eleanor is why we have so many wooden and felty ones. lol.

Thanks Cheryl :) I kinda don't want Christmas season to end I like that header pic so much...wondering how long I can get away with leaving it up!

Blogger has now made it so easy to upload header pics, but the trick is to size the picture correctly. What I do, to frequently change my header pic, is crop a portion of a picture I like and then size it to fit my blog width, which in my case is 900px. You can make the pic as tall as you like but I find between 150 and 300 is tall enough. Also, you may have to resize the border which goes around your header, which means editing in html a bit, but the main thing is the picture sizing. Email me if you try it and this isn't enough info!

I thought I would post this in the comments in case anyone else is curious about this.

I've been curious, too, about changing my header . . . but I have to update to a new template first, which means I'll lose all the widgets and have to re-load them . . . it's like, if you give a mouse a new header . . .

Oh, so pretty! I wish I could have several trees at once, but even I admit that would be a little silly.

I love your new header, too! It reminds me of sitting with my head under the tree looking up, as a kid. (okay, maybe i was a little weird :)

OK, this is basically just a repeat of others' comments, but oh well! I love the new header too. I really like the text effect you used.

The picture of your three "innocent" kittens is hysterical. It would make for a funny LOLCATS picture. :)
