My first Wee Wonderfuls Project

So I have 3 patterns now from Hilary Lang's Wee Wonderfuls store but this is the first one I have made (I have a bad habit of buying patterns only to let them sit a year or so before even attempting them). This is from Put Together Book #1 and I simply love how this cat turned out. I've named her Lola...after our Lola. Her corduroy brown is the same shade as Lola's fur, but without the hints of yellow. And they both seem like diva's, so Lola seemed appropriate. I feel very proud because I knit her that sweater too. The sweater is available as a free download. I didn't do a perfect job knitting that sweater, but it is the very first thing I've knitted that is both 3 dimensional and NOT square! I still have one last step on it actually...I need to pick up the stitches on the neck line and purl 3 rows...but I couldn't figure out how to do that...so that will have to wait until I can consult a more experienced knitter or find a video on youtube or something. Anyway, I am rambling...

It is nice and sunny in Columbus today and it feels nice. I ventured out into the melting snow to take pictures for the blog and it is still pretty chilly (you should have seen me --still in my pajamas and slippers stomping across the snow-trying not to sink)! The sun is quickly melting the 2 ft of snow in the backyard. I'll kinda miss it, but then I remember spring is near and that is soooo much more my style.

She turned out so cute! I love the sweater-I'm going to download it too!! I can show you the "pick up and knit" if you want.

She is adorable!

Bring your knitting to PLA . . . or something crafty, anyway. I am working through ravelry to get a group of knitting librarians together - maybe Thursday sometime. Interested in joining us?

I have a wee little sweater that my Grandmother must have knitted for a Barbie (or someone even skinnier) that I found in her old sewing bag when I inherited it. It has seed beads for buttons and everything - so cute! I carry it around as my knitting totem.
